Delivery Budget: Lock In Margins Before You Spend

Managing margins has always been essential, but now it’s easier, and more controlled, than ever.

The new Delivery Budget feature allows management teams to lock down purchase orders with a standard margin applied to cost centres or individual line items. Before any Purchase Orders go out, you can decide exactly how much margin to withhold, even adjusting the value per line item.

Once a Delivery Budget is enabled: 

  • A dedicated budget page opens for margin control 
  • Purchase orders cannot be sent until the budget is finalised
  • Managers gain complete visibility over final approved spend
  • Margins are protected before any financial commitments are made

Deposit Invoices: Now Available Across All Job Types

Deposit invoices were previously limited to Commercial jobs, but they are now available across every job type.

This update allows teams to:

  • Create deposit invoices on any job
  • Automatically deduct the deposit from the total authorised works
  • Use a separate tax invoice template for deposits (with custom terms and conditions)
  • Remove manual calculations and reduce invoicing errors

Whether you’re managing insurance repairs, commercial builds, or maintenance work, deposits are now cleaner, easier, and more consistent.

Auto & General Variation CSV Updates: Smarter Category

For Insurance Builders working with Auto & General, we’ve improved variation accuracy by updating the variation CSV template.

All variation line items now automatically include the word “Variation” at the start of the scope location. This ensures:

  • Nexus correctly categorises each item as a Variation
  • The original estimate remains clean
  • Manual CSV edits are eliminated
  • Import accuracy and processing time improve

This small but powerful update reduces admin and ensures variations are handled consistently every time.
